NS Sewer Piping offers expert sewer lateral replacement in Solano, Contra Costa and Marin Counties. With over 12 years of experience, our team efficiently identifies and fixes sewer problems. We use camera inspections to assess the damage and provide free estimates for repair.

Common causes of sewer line issues include old or damaged pipes, root intrusion, misaligned pipes, and improper waste disposal. Signs of problems include leaking pipes, ground dips over sewer lines, frequent toilet and shower backups, sewage from cleanouts, slow-draining sinks, inconsistent toilet water levels, basement water spots, and foul outdoor odors.

Once we know the cause, we’ll recommend a trenchless sewer repair or a sewer pipe replacement.

Sewer Installation Q/A

What type of sewer installations does NS Sewer Piping do?

We do both trenchless sewer replacement and full sewer line replacement with trenching. While trenchless is usually thee preferred method, we sometimes do trenching due to different reasons. For example, if there are more utilities, traveling along with the lateral and utilities are too close to the lateral then we have to trench. Or if the pipe needs more depth, then we will consider trenching.

How do you determine the problems with a sewer?

We use a sewer camera to inspect your existing lines.  Typical issues we find are:

  • Tree root blockages
  • Cracks in your pipes
  • Punctures in your pipes
  • Corrosion
  • Uneven or unaligned pipes
  • Excessive grease build-up
  • Hidden leaks
How does a plumber locate the sewer line?

Before digging a trench for sewer line replacement, we need to accurately locate the line. We’ll use a video camera equipped with a radio transmitter to navigate the sewer from the clean-out. By sweeping a locator over the ground to detect the camera’s signal, the precise location of the sewer line is identified. Then we’ll mark the line’s route to ensure the digging is done at the correct location.

What about my utility lines and irrigation?

As part of the process, we’ll work with the local utilities to locate lines.  Technicians will mark your yard for electrical, water, gas, and other vital services. Do not forget that there may be other homeowner-installed services such as sprinkler lines and landscape lights in your yard.

    How is trenching done?

We’ll remove grass, earth, and concrete using equipment like backhoes or trenchers to complete the trenching. Standard trench depths vary from 1.5 to 20 feet, depending on various factors. Our goal is to minimize disruption to your property and landscaping.
