Trenchless sewer repair is a modern method of fixing sewer lines without extensive digging. It involves minimal excavation using pipe bursting to repair or replace damaged pipes. This approach is quicker, less disruptive, and often more cost-effective than traditional sewer repair methods.

Trenchless sewer repair typically involves inserting a bursting head to break and replace the old pipe. Then we insert the new line through the old pipe.

Trenchless sewer repairs are highly durable. The HDPE pipe we use is rated to last 100 years.  It’s resistant to corrosion and root intrusion and provides a long-term solution for sewer line issues with minimal need for future maintenance.

The duration of trenchless sewer repair varies based on the complexity of the job, but it’s generally much faster than traditional sewer repair methods.

Typically, the NS Sewer team can complete trenchless repairs within a day or two. However, certain factors can influence this timeframe such as the preparation time required by your landscaping and the weather.

We use a waterproof camera that is mounted on a flexible rod. This is inserted into sewer lines, and provides us with live video feedback. This allows our technicians to identify blockages, cracks, and other issues in real time, without having to excavate.

The camera’s location in your pipes can be pinpointed from above ground, which aiding in accurate and efficient diagnosis and planning for repairs.

In trenchless sewer repair, tree roots are typically cleared using a method called hydrojetting. This process involves a high-pressure water stream sent through the sewer line, effectively cutting through and removing tree roots and other obstructions.

This method clears the way for subsequent repair techniques like pipe lining or pipe bursting, ensuring a clean, obstruction-free pipe for the new lining to adhere to or for new pipe installation. Hydrojetting is preferred for its efficiency and minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

Hydrojetting works by using a high-pressure water stream to clean and unclog pipes. A specialized nozzle attached to a hose blasts water into the sewer line, cutting through and dislodging debris, grease, and tree roots. This method effectively clears blockages and cleans pipe interiors, preparing them for repair.

Pipe bursting is a trenchless method where a bursting head is pulled through an existing pipe. As it moves, it fractures the old pipe outward and simultaneously pulls a new pipe into place. This technique efficiently replaces damaged pipes without extensive excavation, making it ideal for sewer line renewal.
