Our High Tech Approach

Sewer Inspection
The first step is to determine the case of the leak. Tree roots are common problems. To find out, we use a sewer inspection camera which is mounted on a flexible rod. It is inserted into the pipes and provides us with real-time video feed to identify blockages, damage, and other issues within the sewer system.
1

site preparation
NS Sewer Plumbing contractors are licensed as both C-42 Sanitation contractors and C-12 Earthwork and Paving Contractors. This training and expertise allows the team to properly grade and excavate to prepare your property for the sewer repair. We handle the entire project from start to finish.
2

installation
A new HDPE pipe is seamlessly installed within the existing damaged one. Specialized equipment breaks apart the old pipe while simultaneously pulling or pushing the new pipe into place, avoiding extensive excavation. and then inserts a new pipe into the existing one.

General
What is trenchless sewer repair?
Trenchless sewer repair is a modern method of fixing sewer lines without extensive digging. It involves minimal excavation using pipe bursting to repair or replace damaged pipes. This approach is quicker, less disruptive, and often more cost-effective than traditional sewer repair methods.
How does trenchless sewer repair work?
Trenchless sewer repair typically involves inserting a bursting head to break and replace the old pipe. Then we insert the new line through the old pipe.
Is trenchless repair durable?
Trenchless sewer repairs are highly durable. The HDPE pipe we use is rated to last 100 years. It’s resistant to corrosion and root intrusion and provides a long-term solution for sewer line issues with minimal need for future maintenance.
How long does trenchless sewer repair take?
The duration of trenchless sewer repair varies based on the complexity of the job, but it’s generally much faster than traditional sewer repair methods.
Typically, the NS Sewer team can complete trenchless repairs within a day or two. However, certain factors can influence this timeframe such as the preparation time required by your landscaping and the weather.

Preparation
How does NS Sewer Piping examine your sewer?
We use a waterproof camera that is mounted on a flexible rod. This is inserted into sewer lines, and provides us with live video feedback. This allows our technicians to identify blockages, cracks, and other issues in real time, without having to excavate.
The camera’s location in your pipes can be pinpointed from above ground, which aiding in accurate and efficient diagnosis and planning for repairs.
How are tree roots cleared?
In trenchless sewer repair, tree roots are typically cleared using a method called hydrojetting. This process involves a high-pressure water stream sent through the sewer line, effectively cutting through and removing tree roots and other obstructions.
This method clears the way for subsequent repair techniques like pipe lining or pipe bursting, ensuring a clean, obstruction-free pipe for the new lining to adhere to or for new pipe installation. Hydrojetting is preferred for its efficiency and minimal impact on the surrounding environment.
How does hydrojetting work?
Hydrojetting works by using a high-pressure water stream to clean and unclog pipes. A specialized nozzle attached to a hose blasts water into the sewer line, cutting through and dislodging debris, grease, and tree roots. This method effectively clears blockages and cleans pipe interiors, preparing them for repair.
What is pipe bursting?
Pipe bursting is a trenchless method where a bursting head is pulled through an existing pipe. As it moves, it fractures the old pipe outward and simultaneously pulls a new pipe into place. This technique efficiently replaces damaged pipes without extensive excavation, making it ideal for sewer line renewal.
